Interview with Mamodibe Elizabeth Masilo a young clinical associate!

  • Who is Lizzy?
I’m a 21year old lady, full names Mamodibe Elizabeth Masilo. I’m a woman of God, passionate about Jesus. I live covered with God’s grace and love. I live for my savior. I am hard working and hard loving, lol. I get along with everyone, a bit talkative and I’m a big dreamer!
  •  Where does Lizzy come frm?
I was born and raised in the Vaal Triangle. I was raised by strong loving parents. I grew up with my two brothers, in sebokeng zone 3.

  • Tell us about your fondest childhood memories.
My fondest childhood memory is of me running the relay with my peers in the street, lol, when I was little i use to love competing. And if something wasn’t challenging anymore id move to the next. I use to love playing relay coz i was a really fast runner. When competing with girls my age got boring I moved to competing with boys. When that got boring i moved to kids older than me. I really loved a challenge and I wish I was that aggressive now,  lol!

  • Tell us about your career, where you studied and so on.
I studied a Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice at Wits university from 2009-2011. I’m currently working in my home town as a Clinical Associate at Kopanong Hospital. I’m also currently studying chemistry and physics via Unisa.

  • The joys/ challenges that come with it?
The joys: I love my job, figuring out what’s wrong with someone and helping them get better is very fulfilling. Seeing improvements in a really ill patient and knowing that you did your part to help, brings me great joy.
The challenges: one of the greatest challenges is working with people (colleagues) with different personalities. Working with patients who are impatient and demanding. The long queues of patients waiting to be seen. Being the first group of a new profession, clinical associates, is a challenge itself. Being  expected, as a clinical associate by other professions eg. Doctors, nurses, etc.  to work harder than everyone everyday to earn trust. Plus I’m the junior so I have to work extra hard.
  • Who inspires you?
I’m inspired by my mom. I know that might sound common, lol, but I truly I am. She is a strong hardworking woman of Christ and I adore her. I’m also inspired by little children. Kids are remarkable; they laugh without fear, love hard, honest, forgiving and curious. Thoughts are great qualities to have, I adore them.

  • What does it mean to be a young woman of God to you?
It means that i live my life for God. That I serve my God by serving his people and fortunately my work allows me to do this every day. I try to be a blessing to everyone as God has greatly blessed me and continues to do so every day. I am covered with His grace and his love and I shall not fear anything for he is with me. In all challenges in my life my inner Him (Jesus) gives me great peace because i know he has defeated my enemies on the cross! I go through challenges daily and I conquer them daily with the power of the cross.

  • What are your dreams?
I have many dreams and I have turned them into goals and visions. My greatest dream is to become a doctor. Ever since I can remember i wanted to be a doctor and this passion is what is driving me to push harder everyday to reach my goal. I have dreams of traveling as well, to see Gods beautiful earth and to visit disadvantaged areas in our country and do my bit to help out. And like many ladies I dream of getting married one day to a handsome man of God, but he has to find me first, lol.

  • What are your favorite things in life?
I love food. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and having a good time. I love fashionable clothes and shoes and taking care of myself. I enjoy posing and taking pictures. I wish I could sing but that hasn’t stopped me from singing my lungs out lol. If the world was made of chocolate I would have finished it long time ago. I just love life, laughing and i love making friends!
The bible and I are like Oros and water, lol. I enjoy reading the bible and i have many favorite scriptures and one of them being 1 John 4:7-8&12. It’s very much self explanatory. God is love. Anyone who does not love does not know God. We cannot see God but if we love one another He lives in us, simple as that. Amen. Life is not as complicated as we make it out to be. Be kind and love others!
