ead and a KFC barell. He would call us and put us on his lap...hmmm, the best times :- )
Q. Tell us your studies and your ministry.
A. I matriculated in Katlehong, studied IT at Vall Tech and post grad in IT Man. at UJ. Last month I grad with a BA with Psychology and HR majors. Psychology is my new found love, I still enjoy my IT job though. I am a certified counsellor, I don't mind being a listening ear.
Professionals Make A Difference (PMAD) srarted in 2006. I used to visit schools in Katlehong to encourage learners to study regardless of their family background. I don't believe one really needs money to study, they really need to aspire and act on their aspiration and money will find them on their way. Hence PMAD's vision is to install and magnify the culture of learning in the children of Mzansi.

PMAD was registered in 2010 when I joined hands with my like-minded colleagues to formalise the venture. PMAD is a two fold. 1. Calling all young ones to aspire and be something amazing and great. 2. Calling all professionals to show interest in the young stars' development. Because we were all inspired and believed in by someone, they don't have to be related to us at all.
Q. What challenges/re...
Q. What challenges/re...
wards that have come from this ministry?
A. Challenges will have to getting sponsorships and buy in from other stakeholders. We would to reach as many learners as possible because many young stars need to get this.
Rewards wouls have to be, being able to do the Top Matriculant Awards, because it's something I've always wanted to see this happen. Seeing someone more determined about where they are going is A Biiig Woow.
Q. Who inspires Makiteko?
A. My family's love for me, daughter (she's a real gift to me), my pastor Ps. Jabu Mtsweni, his passion for Gods people. As well as the people who hear about PMAD and just roll their sleeves and make things happen just inspire me.
Q. What does being a young Christian woman mean to Mikateko?
A. I have come to understand Gods love for me, thats the basis of our relationship. His faithfulness, His love and His forbearance for me just melt my heart.
Q. Have you received any recognition for your ministry?
A. Ummm, not really. For me, seeing the learners recognise somebody's interest in their development and not take that lighty is recognition.
Q. What are your dreams?
A. I want to continue working on PMAD and get to a point where we are able to give bursaries. I want to write as many books and songs as the Lord allows me to. Also to take my Psychology career to the next level.
Q. What are your fav things?
A. Travelling, anywhere where there's a beach or waterfall. l love good food, listening to gospel music, reading and walking.
Q. Tell us about the book you are working on, what inspired it?
A. It's titled 'Nothing Beats A Joyful Heart' it's inspired by my own life and also observations around me. It's about how having God brings perspective and joy in ones life. My target audience are all individuals from varios walks of life, because life happens to all of us and we can't allow some happenings steal our joy and remain miserable.
