Please
tell us about yourselves - who is Lerato and Ntombi?
Ntombi: Ntombi is a born again Christian, a daughter to a wonderful mother, a person who loves laughing. I am a member and one of the ministers of the youth programme ' Life Changing Zone' at Healing Centre Family Church which is at Emaphupheni Daveyton.I live in Barcelona, Etwatwa in Benoni in the East Rand
How
and where did you ladies meet?
Lerato: Ntombi and I met at church. The
first few months when she[Ntombi] started attending church we never spoke until
one night when we had the church's performing arts whole night rehearsals. From
then we clicked and became sisters *smiling*
Ntombi: Rato and I met at
church in 2011.At first we were not close at all. We started talking after a
play we did at church. We gave each other a chance and thereafter we became
friends.
Ntombifuthi Khumalo.
•
Where are you from?
Lerato: I was
born and bread in daveyton in Benoni in the East Rand - Gauteng. Right now I
live in Pretoria at tertiary
Lerato Mashiane.
• What is it that you like about each other in terms of qualities?
Ntombi: Her beautiful smile always lightens up my day. She is a free spirited person, her generosity and kindness. She is very ambitious and knows what she wants in life. I used to think she is one of those people that have it easy but as I got know her, I realised that she is a hard worker and works for what she wants. She just doesn't give up easily.
•
What makes Lee/Ntombi stand out from the rest?
Ntombi: Her attitude towards life. The way she thinks and handles things - it’s always in a positive way. She's is one of a few in her age that think the way she does.
Lerato Mashiane.
•
If you could borrow something from each other
(body/talent/etc) what would it be?
Ntombi: Her smile and boobs. *hides* lol
• How has this friendship blessed your lives each?
Ntombi: Her generosity has taught me not to worry much
about people who take advantage of you to get what they want. It's good to give
and if someone be using you, it's their problem as long as you know it comes
from the heart. One night I slept her place and we were studying and then we began
talking about life and about God. I was listening to how she was explaining the
Word of God to me. That taught me how to approach a scripture and how to
understand it. I remember in the back of my mind thinking that this girl must
go back to preaching because God has a lot to say through her.
Lerato: My God! I have grown tremendously
- spiritually, emotionally and mentally. In the short space of time we've been
friends, we went through a lot of hardships and that has helped us not only to
bond and know each other more, but to strengthen each other through prayer and
sharing the Truth (Word of God).
Ntombifuthi Khumalo.
•
What do you love to do (places etc)
Ntombi: We also do church or chilling at home.
Ntombi: Lol! Eish I can’t really explain it in writing.
It’s like if she sees someone doing something or saying something weird, she
does a facial expression and says "Haaa!!!" So it’s the fact that she
can laugh at herself. We recently went to the mall and she had shades on and
one of the glasses fell off and she just burst out with laughter.
Lerato: The funniest thing about her - she
likes answering randomly at times to questions without thinking through the
answer and probably she would say something crazy or funny.
Lerato Mashiane.
•
Your most fav memories of each other?
Ntombi: Moments when we just share jokes and laugh at ourselves. Our heart to heart moments are always memorable to me. When we just sit and talk about a lot of things we've been through or going through and the things we going to achieve.
•
How do you handle disagreements?
Lerato: I don’t remember us having disagreements.
I don't know about her...*thinking* Ntombi: We have disagreements but they don’t lead to arguments. I’d say we have our own opinions and respect each other enough to understand where the other is coming from.
What I've noticed is that we each have our own voice. At the end of the day you need a friend who will draw you close to God in good and bad times.
Lerato: My say is that friends are like any form of hair. There are friends who are like weaves or wigs [you have them when you stranded and when you get tired of them/they get tired of you, they leave. Those that are like weird/colorful or complicated hairdos [those make us to look good/just crazy-bad in front of people...].With you Ntombi, I take you like my real hair that is original, blessed by God with it. Hair that its roots are inside of me. Whether cut or long, curly or straight, colorfull or black; it forever live in me.
By this I mean nothing or no one will take your place in my heart and you'll always be rooted in me and I'll forever cherish no matter what. I love you Ntombifuthi Patricia Khumalo.
Ntombi: Oh sugar my sugar lol! I love
you my friend. It's been a year of friendship and I have learned so much from
you. I'm thankful for our friendship and may God keep us together. May you
continue to be a blessing not only in my life and also in the lives of people
around you. Stay in God, be as humble as you are, smile and laugh always. A big
thank you to I Beg To Differ. Peace and love!
I love the fact this was a heart-to-heart interview from two remarkable woman who stand for the true meaning of love, relationship and respect.
